Can I share a phone line with a printer/scanner/copier/fax machine thru a special separator connector? I have only one phone line & have heard that you can share a line with a fax/copier/printer with a special connector. Is this true? anthonyschilders replied: "most multi-function units have a special feature called drpr or distinctive ring pattern recognition. Meaning if you have ring-master service with your phone company, you can have a second number ring a special ring and the fax will pick up ONLY when it rings that pattern. other than that, you can get an automatic fax switch which will send incoming faxes to your machine, and regular calls to your phone connected to the switch. There is no device that allows you to talk on the phone and send/recieve faxes on one line. they both use the line and theres no way to combine them. however, with the switch, they can share the line automatically." Any good recommendation for a all in one machine (printer,scanner, copier & fax)? I need all in one machine for leisure and business purpose. Anyone out there have any good recommendation? Thanks, GladToHelp" I need an all in one printer scanner copier fax with OCR and sheet feeder. Advice please? I'm in the UK.? I need to replace my current Epson Photo 895 in the near future. I think an all in one would be best for domestic/home office use, but I am worried about running costs --even my Epson cartridges are quite expensive when I get own brand from local retailers.
